What I'm Reading

I’m a reader - there are always books queued up on my Kobo, still some on my Kindle (when that’s the only e-book format available for something I’m really interested in) and a pile on every horizontal surface in my “office”.

I bounce from book to book, rarely staying in one from start to end. I try to finish the good ones, but what is it - a book version of ADHD?

Counterspell: A Field Manual for the Counter-Revolution

Michael Belcher author

Elizabeth Nickson pointed me to this book in her 20260801 Substack essay

Another Roadside Attraction

Tom Robbins author

Buddy Carl reminded me about Robbins this morning in our weekly call. I read this when it first came out - 1972 probably, when I first moved to BC.

Vincent of Lerins and the Development of Christian Doctrine

Thomas G. Guarino author

The classic Vencentian “always, everywhere by everyone” is well known, not entirely without problems, and tends to distract from Vincent’s fifth-century Commonitorium , which is well worth studying.

The Mind of the Maker

Dorothy Sayers author

Sayers’ linking of the concept of the Holy Trinity as the foundation of human creativity. Introduction by Madeleine L’Engle. Links right into the theme of consciousness/foreign country/Christianity.
